Architecture
Livia is an architect by training. She has worked on residential towers in Bucharest, entered competitions with fellow architects, and solved the geometry of festival stages. This section follows her 2020 architecture portfolio.
The tools behind her jewellery appear here first, at the scale of buildings. A Grasshopper script shaped a canopy. A gravity simulation found the form of a pavilion. A Processing script turned sound into the texture of a façade. Large stage surfaces were divided into panels that a crew could assemble on site.
Office work at XArchitecture
- One Mircea Eliade: three residential towers and an office tower beside Hala Ford in Bucharest. Livia coordinated architecture, structure, and building services, designed interior stairs, and worked on the terraces and the plaza.
- Citta: a residential development in Pantelimon built in phases. Livia drew the exterior details, including the joints between phases.
Competitions and collaborations
- The Plastic Monument: a relocatable installation that shows passers-by the weight of their own plastic waste.
- A Sky for All: first prize at Spotlight 2019, then built and exhibited.
- Galaxy Stage: the panelled stage surface at Untold, designed with Mindscape in 2017 and 2018.
University projects
- Equestrian Centre: Livia's diploma project, a riding centre that links a network of historic manor houses, under a folded timber roof.
- Justice Quarter: several justice institutions joined under one canopy that Livia generated in Grasshopper.
- Office Tower, Asmita Gardens: a diagrid tower that changes from a circle at its base to an ellipse at its top.
- Pavilion: a form found by simulating gravity, then tested in folded cardboard.
- Contemporary Dance School: a façade textured with the sound of dance.
- ASE Extension: two new faculties for the Bucharest University of Economic Studies in Piața Romană.
