What would you choose if you could borrow a biological trait from another animal? Regeneration from an axolotl, perhaps, or a tardigrade's resistance to radiation?
Materialized Enhancements lets you build a character from real genes within a limited credit budget. Each gene comes with research references and a description of how far the evidence has reached. Your choices generate a unique crystal-like 3D form that you can download and print.
The project combines a game, a gene knowledgebase, and bioart. The character is imagined; the scientific references help you explore the biology behind it.

The digital form can become a physical piece you can hold or wear.

Livia worked on design and storytelling, alongside Newton Winter (concept and biology), Anton Kulaga (engineering and data), and Markel Kori (video and storytelling).
