Livia Zaharia is a Romanian architect and parametric jewellery artist who uses script-driven, generative geometry to create nature-evoking wearable objects and installations. She works under the label Paral Design (Parametric Livia), translating computational architectural methods into intimate, research-driven, body-scale artefacts.
Her artistic identity sits at the intersection of three domains: generative art rooted in architectural parametric tools, speculative design for health and longevity, and experimental contemporary jewellery — exhibited at Romanian Jewelry Week every year since 2021.
Her tools include Grasshopper (visual programming for Rhino), COMPAS (computational architecture framework), and Python scripts for generative geometry. Digital models are 3D-printed, cast primarily in silver, and sometimes combined with natural materials — walnut husks, amber, quartz — through traditional metalworking.
Beyond her art practice, Livia is the founder of GlucoseDAO, a healthtech initiative building open-source tools for glucose prediction and metabolic health, including the Sugar-Sugar Game — a browser-based tool where participants predict blood glucose trajectories and compare their accuracy against ML models. GlucoseDAO operates in collaboration with Universitätsmedizin Rostock.
She is a contributor to the Longevity Genie open-source ecosystem, where her Materialized Enhancements project bridges physical artefact-making and computational biology. She is affiliated with HEALES (Healthy Life Extension Society) and has taught AI agentic workshops in bioinformatics.
Outside the studio and the lab, Livia is an avid swimmer — her proper stroke is crawl, and she is currently learning butterfly and monofin. She is also a dedicated hiker, with Jepii Mici being her favourite Romanian hiking route and the Predeal mountain race her favourite running event. She is obsessed with gemstones and with growing plants — passions that feed directly back into her nature-inspired parametric work.
Her design work is presented under @paral_design on Instagram, on Facebook as byLiviaZaharia, and professionally on LinkedIn. Together, these two branches — art and science — form one interdisciplinary practice between living systems and computational form.

Livia Zaharia is a Romanian architect and parametric jewellery artist working under the label Paral Design (Parametric Livia). She translates computational architectural methods into intimate, research-driven, body-scale artefacts — rings, pendants, earrings, and wearable objects that sit at the intersection of generative art, speculative design, and experimental contemporary jewellery.
The design process uses parametric and script-driven 3D modelling — primarily Grasshopper for Rhino, the COMPAS computational framework, and custom Python scripts. Base geometries are defined and then transformed into multiple variants through controlled changes in equations and parameters.
The workflow moves from digital modelling through 3D printing, then to casting in silver and other metals, and finally manual assembly — incorporating hand-assembled mechanisms, traditional metalworking, and mixed-material construction.
Silver, brass, copper, quartz, amber, walnut husks, 3D-printed elements, and repurposed found objects recontextualised into new pieces.
Pieces appear inspired by shells, corals, plants, or cellular structures — yet are generated entirely through code and parametric rules. This raises the question of what counts as "original" versus "copy" when an algorithm produces forms indistinguishable from natural ones.

Every piece forged by Livia carries an alternate-universe fantasy layer — an RPG-flavoured narrative where each artefact is an enchanted item with stats, abilities, and hidden connections. At the heart of it all sits The Nut of Power, the supreme artifact that binds and commands every other creation.
The Nut of Power sits at the centre of Livia's artifact constellation, exerting dominion over every other creation. Each artifact enhances specific attributes, and together they form an interconnected web of power.
The Nut of Power — +∞ Dominion — controls all artifacts
Controlled artifacts:
The Dark Nut of Power — +5 Dark Arts, +3 Intimidation — cursed clone, sealed by Flough
The Nanot of Power — +5 Nanotechnology, +3 Biotechnology — catches soluble TNF-alpha
Mitoring — +4 Energy, +2 Endurance — powerhouse of the... Livia
Embryo Ring — +4 Luck, +3 Creativity — blesses new projects
The Eye of Winter — +5 Frost, +2 Transformation — area freeze, shape-shifts between pendant and ring
Kidney Pendant — +5 Poison Resistance, +2 Purification — Borș immunity
The Snail Ring — Stats: ??? — awaiting discovery
Dominion hierarchy: The Nut of Power controls all artifacts. The Dark Nut is its shadow clone — powerful but unstable, requiring Flough to contain its curse leakage. All other artifacts operate independently but are ultimately subject to the Nut's authority.
Stat categories: Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Dark Arts, Intimidation, Energy, Endurance, Luck, Creativity, Frost, Transformation, Poison Resistance, Purification, Dominion.
"One Nut to rule them all, one Nut to find them, one Nut to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them."
The most powerful artifact ever forged by Livia. It controls all other artifacts she has made — a supreme conduit of dominion. Half walnut shell, half amethyst sphere, joined by brass bands and a leather strap, it pulses with ancient energy drawn from the earth itself.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Brass, Walnut, Amethyst | Size: 3.4 × 3.4 cm | Year: 2024
Stats: +∞ Dominion | Ability: Absolute control over all other artifacts forged by Livia
The dark clone of the Nut of Power, forged in shadow. Encased in a blackened walnut husk with copper innards exposed like a wound, this artifact carries a terrible curse — it can curse people that Livia does not like. More dangerously, it sometimes leaks, cursing without conscious control.
The leakage is sealed by Flough — a seal-type pillow possessed by Anton that functions as a containment device.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Copper, Walnut | Size: 3.4 × 3.4 cm | Year: 2024
Stats: +5 Dark Arts, +3 Intimidation | Ability: Targeted and uncontrolled cursing | Weakness: Sealed by Flough
Forged after visiting Nanotics' lecture at ARDD, this pendant channels the power of nanomedicine. Its intricate lattice structure mirrors the nanoparticles developed by Nanotics — engineered to seek and neutralise molecular threats in the bloodstream.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Sterling Silver | Size: 3.2 × 3.2 cm | Year: 2024
Stats: +5 Nanotechnology, +3 Biotechnology | Ability: Can catch soluble TNF-alpha
"Powerhouse of the... Livia."
A ring that reimagines the mitochondrion as a wearable sculpture. Amber glows through a sterling silver cage whose folds echo the cristae — the inner membrane structures where cellular energy is born. Whoever wears this ring gains boundless energy.
Type: Ring | Materials: Amber, Sterling Silver | Size: 3.2 × 2.2 cm | Year: 2024
Stats: +4 Energy, +2 Endurance | Ability: Powerhouse — grants the wearer tireless vitality
A ring of new beginnings. Raw amber chunks are clasped by silver wire prongs in an organic, almost embryonic embrace — as if the stone is still forming, still becoming. It enhances luck and gives a blessing to all new projects undertaken while worn.
Type: Ring | Materials: Amber, Sterling Silver | Size: 3.2 × 2.2 cm | Year: 2024
Stats: +4 Luck, +3 Creativity | Ability: Blesses new projects with fortune and inspiration
A transformer artifact that shifts between pendant and ring form. When it was forged, heavy snow appeared in Bucharest — as if the artifact was announcing its own birth. It freezes everything around.
Type: Pendant / Ring (transformer) | Materials: Sterling Silver | Year: 2024
Stats: +5 Frost, +2 Transformation | Ability: Area freezing; shape-shifts between pendant and ring
An artifact of resilience and purification. Grants resistance to poisons — including the dreaded Romanian "Borș."
Type: Pendant | Materials: Sterling Silver
Stats: +5 Poison Resistance, +2 Purification | Ability: Neutralises toxins and grants immunity to Borș
A spiral-shelled ring whose abilities remain shrouded in mystery. Its nautilus geometry hints at logarithmic power — patience that compounds over time.
Type: Ring | Materials: Sterling Silver | Year: TBD
Stats: ??? | Ability: Unknown — awaiting discovery
Name: Livia | Class: Artifactor / Herbalist | Level: Legendary
Livia is a dual-class wielder: as an Artifactor, she forges enchanted artifacts from metal, stone, and organic matter; as a Herbalist, she carries a deep love for plants and draws botanical power from the living world.
Curse: Type I Diabetes — a persistent debuff that cannot be removed, only managed through alchemy and technology.
Parentage: Daughter of the Dark Lord and the Teleporter.
Superabilities:
Instant Sleep — Even several minutes of a statistics course triggers immediate, irresistible sleep. This ability is so powerful that no statistics lecture can overcome it... with one exception: BlueBrown-level statistics, which is engaging enough to resist the effect.
Artifact Forging — Can create enchanted items from parametric digital models, 3D printing, and traditional metalworking.
Herbal Affinity — Natural bond with plants; can sense their needs and draw strength from green spaces.
Further abilities TBD.
Flough — A seal-type pillow possessed by Anton. Functions as a containment device for the Dark Nut of Power's curse leakage. Without Flough, the Dark Nut's curses would leak uncontrollably into the surrounding world.
Materialized Enhancements is a platform that translates human biological upgrades into generative, wearable art. Users select desired "enhancement genes" through an intuitive interface built in Reflex, and the system generates a unique, 3D-printable artefact shaped by their biological choices.
The gene library draws from extreme survival traits found across life on Earth — shark longevity, tardigrade radiation shields, axolotl regeneration, mantis shrimp optics, and more — each backed by a peer-reviewed research paper. The result is a personal totem: an unrepeatable 3D form that materialises your vision of your own biological future.
The project reframes genetic enhancement not as medical intervention but as creative self-authorship — a materialised declaration of who you want to become, drawing from what 3.8 billion years of evolution has already prototyped across every branch of life.
Presented at CODAME ART+TECH "The New Human" Creative Hackathon, Milano Design Week (March 2026). Built across 1,500+ kilometres — from Milan to Bucharest to Munich — during the hackathon itself.

Collection concept (Romanian Jewelry Week 2025): It's just a cell life — Biology collection.
It all started with a cell. It grew, divided and specialized. This collection recalls that: different forms record different stages or parts of the cell. The collection has a start point, the Nucleus, and an end point — Embryo. Not only 3D-printed techniques are used: natural materials are integrated via more traditional methods — walnut husks combined with metal, natural amber trapped in digitally designed settings. Nano particles — a new medical technology — appear as silver, with or without inclusions. Each piece has a story.
The line also includes microscope- and molecule-inspired work: rings, pendants, and earrings echoing cells, tissues, nanoparticles, and organelles — including the Nanot-of-Power pendant (nanomedicine-inspired) and the Mitochondria ring.

Collection idea (Light-space-shape series)
Light has no shape. However it reveals the shapes hidden in space. As such any shape will be sculpted by the light.
Since osmium can be considered a pure source of light (at least according to the properties of what is reflected from it), obviously any shape will have to accommodate it.
There are technical limitations, however nothing that human creativity cannot overcome. Any 3D surface can be converted into flat shapes that will protect the light. Shape deconstructing is also a part of the light.
This series is meant to be inspired by space and the cosmic objects that usually are the proving ground of numerous light behaviors — stars. Shine bright like a diamond needs to be rewritten. The only measure are the stars.
A pair of earrings — Sound of stars — where all begins. Stars are formed in the ripples of universe expansion. Sound doesn't travel through space, however light does. In the object created we have both rippling of light and sound. They are just tiny bells.
A pendant — White dwarf — late stages of star life, when all its essence is dense and heavy. Feel the heaviness of light with an imposing shape meant to gather the attention.
A ring — Supernova — where all the sparkle that has been gathered during its long life will explode. A core that is protected by the strong outward forces.

Collection concept (Romanian Jewelry Week 2024): Beloved food
Sometimes food inspires us — not only in the kitchen while we prepare it, or at the table where we enjoy it, but also in shape and form. Memories and experiences are tied to our taste. Using materials which are most certainly not edible, this collection remembers some very familiar elements. The sweet paste filled Nocciola, or the Bird's nest, are only some of them. At first people might wonder where the connection is, but we all have to keep in mind: some of humanity's most persistent memories revolve around food. Those treasured memories come back in a way that will last longer than the food itself and reflect what matters most.

Collection concept (Romanian Jewelry Week 2023): Survival
Being lost in a lush jungle where everything is as changing as it is beautiful. Deep colours recall plants which may or may not be dangerous. The only certain thing is that there is beauty of different shapes and sizes which sometimes can morph into function or form. Each item is unique and tells its own tale of survival — an ever-changing deep forest and its hidden paths. All pieces were cast in silver after being modelled in 3D; some mechanisms were manually assembled.

Collection concept (Romanian Jewelry Week 2022): Paths. Memories. Guides
A path that has been set by an event or record. A model to follow which cannot be changed. Memories which record what lies inside us — whether it is a living being, a sound wave or a building. Guides that actively help us find new paths, and the cycle repeats.
Paths fade to memories; memories in turn become guides. All pieces were made using 3D modelling software, 3D printed and cast into silver or laser cut. What makes the difference is the individual backstory of each.

Collection concept (Romanian Jewelry Week 2021): Parametric (by) nature
Even though it looks unrestrained, nature has a set of hidden rules. Using those rules, today's computational ability and human inspiration brought these pieces to life. The selection has two parts: elements and entities. The first is restricted to water for now, in all its forms, based on the characteristics of this element. The second part is mostly related to plants. Each piece was made by 3D modelling and printing and is still unique.
Includes Ceartari earrings and rings, Ice, Splash, and Fasolaluna (Beanut) pendants, Mountain of gold ring and pendant, and Mycelium ring.

Walk into a town where rings and pendants have become buildings.
In Livistone, Livia's jewellery grows to the scale of architecture. Arrive at an amber station, pass through a ring-shaped gate, and explore a town whose buildings begin with objects she has made. A walnut shell becomes City Hall; silver folds around amber become the Ministry of Energy.
You can walk through the town or use the map to jump between places. Displays show photographs of the original pieces and their stories. Her research projects have places of their own, too. The town and the powers it gives its objects are fiction, rooted in real artworks and research.
The background music is Livia playing kalimba, recorded on her phone.
Choose your musicians on an ocean map. Each one is a real recording of a whale or dolphin.
Whale and Dolphin Orchestra measures the timing and pitch of recorded calls, then uses those patterns to guide generated music. You can hear finished pieces, listen to the individual animals, and follow the recordings and music in spectrograms: pictures of how sound changes over time.
The project is a working prototype by Livia Zaharia and Anton Kulaga. It was developed for an ArtWaves residency proposal; the listening installation is a proposed next step.
Another part of the project, Sound to silver, explores how an animal's recorded phrase can bend the form of one of Livia's rings. These sound-shaped rings are still in development and have not yet been cast.

The Eye of Winter is a composite, actually. Two stones just created the perfect effect, so we had a faceted topaz and a nice quartz cabochon that, overlapped, looked just like an eye. Now the creativity comes in the assembly. Because, you see, I liked both configurations, so I made it adjustable. People can wear it with the quartz or without it. And since we were adding adjustable elements, I also made it detachable. In the past, transformable jewelry was more common than nowadays. In the end you can wear it as a ring or as a pendant. As for the name... well, the colour would explain why winter, but maybe what is best told is the effect it actually had on the weather. Each time I wore it we had a very rare snowstorm in Bucharest. It even snowed when I went to get the pieces from the caster. Its powers are not yet fully known.

Well ring version has the same first two faces, plus only base, you can actually wear the base without the eye, while you are having it as a pendant. But most important I think is the mechanics. Here it is shown how we thread screws of silver for assembly This is the version without the upper quartz. It can be worn as ring or…

This piece of amber reminded me of the duality of earth: hilly sides on one part and a clear depth on another. So I devised its setting in a similar way to a reliquary. It can be opened and worn without the stone, or the stone can be kept showcased.

It is an explosion, of cosmic scale, of a berry. Well, in more detail, it is based on a design sent to a competition where the theme was the stars, and the original name was Supernova. That competition involved a very fancy material called osmium, which is said to sparkle more than diamonds. I never tested it. It is out of my budget range. Anyway, since I didn't have the osmium, I used something more accessible: a synthetic garnet that even glows under UV. It simply looks like a fresh ripe berry, thus the name Berry Nova.
Type: Ring | Materials: Sterling silver, synthetic garnet | Dimensions: 2.4 × 2.4 × 2.5 cm | Year: 2025
I started with a series of pins, then discovered they can be much more than that. They can be accessories to switch and combine every day. This is how the Blooming Ring came to be: never the same.

Stones started everything. This is actually quartz covered with chlorite, a unique find. More important, they looked like the nails from the Crucifixion, or some other self-defense mechanism, so of course I had to make them as earrings.

This particular case is one of reuse. I found this actual knife holder with a very cute frog. I just liked the shape but didn't want to destroy the piece, so I did an upgrade: I added a ring as a support so the frog can be worn. In practice it can be worn with or without the frog. To affix the frog I first 3D scanned it, to be sure my shape would fit.

It has everything because of the stone. I might even be called a stone whisperer, but still. I had bought this really nice stone that I definitely had to set in a ring, only I could not decide which side to put it on. And then it hit me: why should I decide? Why can't I just flip it any way I want? And this is how the rotational models were born.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, synthetic stone | Dimensions: 3 × 1.8 × 1.8 cm | Year: 2025
Work in progress (or in alteration) Cast silver ring with blue-green tourmaline (sometimes called Indicolite) with moving parts. As usual I started from the stone. And from my general curiozity plus the apparent lack of normal gliding systems in jewelery. The stone is a tourmaline that changes colour in accordance with light position- it can be of a dark, ink like blue or a darker shade of green as seen in the pictures. Since I decided I must take advantage of this feature I tried to find a rotary sistem which, as can be seen from the pictures and short animation, works. It is, however,a work in progress because I noticed a detail of the fitting I want to imporve...I will upload photos when the time comes- for those that want to guess what it is, they are free to do so :)

I wanted something organic, something that would look like cellular growth, and the Brain Ring appeared. Its intrinsic shapes remind us of brains. The growth inside it is like algae spreading on the surface.

Here is another story of how an error can actually be useful. I usually cast my pieces in different places, since I don't own the equipment for casting and high-resolution printing in resin at home. Here the person who did it made a bad scale in his settings. The ring, which is in fact the Brain Ring, got scaled to a smaller size. But this is not the way for inventive people to deal with it. I decided it could be reused, and turned it into a pendant. However, not any pendant: it had to have wood, and a hard essence at that, so Bubinga wood was chosen.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Sterling silver, bubinga wood | Dimensions: 4 × 3 × 3 cm | Year: 2024
It started with the stone. This is a Shiva agate, known for its irregular shape, which I think looks like a cloud. Some other people thought it looks like something else. And of course we have to trap the stone.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Shiva agate raw stone, silver, glass beads | Dimensions: 5 × 4 × 4 cm | Year: 2024
This was a custom order. It derived from Vittoria Amazonica but used another script. The gentle tangles look like a dream catcher's web, and it is made to be worn in a pair with a ring.

It was all about the stone. There was this cloud-like amber that sat perfectly around the finger. Someone wanted it to be a bead. That only gave me a reason and a way to make it stable in the setting. I knew I needed a wide band and some sort of attachment. So it came to be.

The Mitoring is the ring of power and energy. Basically, the amber. When I saw its shape I just knew it had to be a part of a cell body, and the yellow colour made me think of mitochondria. I mean, clearly, the powerhouse of the cell, just smaller in dimension. So that's how one of the most important artifacts came to be.

Nanot is the most famous of them all. It is based, actually, on a real particle developed by a company named Nanotics. The particle, in real-life use cases, is used to trap dangerous substances that float around in the body. Basically the core attracts them and they get stuck in the outer shell (in this case TNF-alpha receptors, but you might need to google that). The shape came to mind after a biotech conference where I heard the presentation. I went to the presenter and said, "Great talk, I think I can make a wonderful pendant out of it." I just saw the shapes. Later on he bought the first model for his wife, who was really happy about it, and Nanot became a classic. The shapes have spoken.

Nucalong was the first, and at the moment the only, pendant to be directly printed in metal. Its whirling shapes remind me of the interior of a nut, or of certain foods, I assume.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Bronze, sterling silver | Dimensions: 2.4 × 1.3 × 6.4 cm | Year: 2024
One nut to rule them all. It is actually a non-parametric creation: just nature and human ingenuity. It is the husk of an actual walnut and a real stone. Some technical difficulties? Yes. The husk is way too thin, and it was difficult drilling through it without cracking. Let's not forget the 5 kg of nuts I searched through to find the perfect one. Also, inside there are still gear balls to make sure the pendant is balanced, so it is not for naught it is called the Nut of Power.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Brass, walnut, amethyst | Dimensions: 3.4 × 3.4 cm | Year: 2024
The stone called it. It simply looked like a switch.

Here is a play on words. Vitaborum for those that live, vitaorum for the travellers... or the other way around. But this piece shows the resilience to succeed even when not everything goes according to our calculation.
It was supposed to be a pendant with silver and a girasol quartz. Due to the shape of the stone, I had to break the silver cast into multiple pieces. To bring them all together, some brass has been used, giving it its current look.

This ring was created with two ideas. First, the stone, which had a nice symmetric shape. Second, the idea of a bow ring, resembling a claw. That is why it is called Amber-Bow.

Ammonite is, nowadays, a shape of a previous age. A fossil, if you want, that has turned from a living creature into either agate or opal, depending on the sediments collected in the shell. This one has turned into a very balanced agate. The spiraling wires are reminiscent of the tentacles of the creature coming out of the shell.
Type: Ring | Materials: Sterling silver, agate | Dimensions: 4.2 × 3.5 × 2.6 cm | Year: 2023

I just had a very beautiful bead, really nice, and it had a well conspicuous hole. So I decided, why don't I make a ring to fit it? And if somehow, how about I make interchangeable parts? So the threaded ring came by. The cap, however, was what gave it its name, if you get my feeling.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, glass | Dimensions: 3.5 × 1.8 × 2.0 cm | Year: 2023
The model was thought out so that the wearer has the choice of how it is worn- with a single point of contact between the pendant and necklace or "sewn" along the perforated edge. Thus it would be a pendant or included in a choker. The concept was applied to leather band or textile strand. It was cast in silver, but could work out very well in bronze also, since it has quite ample size and volume.

Hessonite is a nice stone, second only to ruby in the category of red resilient stones. This particular one has a nice warm yellow sheen to the bright red. The pattern on the ring is, upon closer inspection, something hard to achieve without the 3D printing technique. People ask why 3D printing, isn't it less original, and the answer is no. 3D printing in this case helped to have small multiple intersections in the same plane, and stable, without having to solder each and every point and afterwards polish them away. Keep in mind, 3D printing is just a tool, exactly as the blowtorch is, just more advanced.

Inline is a message ring. It is modeled based on a short recording of whatever the creator wants. Well, it didn't actually start only from the stone. I was inspired by the arches in the King's Chapel in England, their ribs so fine and so graceful. And it just so happened I had the second double-finger ring I had to design. So that's how it came to be.

Did you know that ancient Vikings used the same stone, Iceland spar, to navigate? They had a scratch or marking on one side and they looked into the sun with it. Inspired by the largest lily pad out there, that can even support a human, and their absolutely nice behaviour, where they repel water into forming a bead. That's where my aquamarine came to be. And because beads move, so does my stone, across growth paths from this shape.

Ring cast in silver and natural stone amber with an insect in it. Part of Listen to your heart series together with Sticks and stones. I will not retell the story of the series but I will rather focus on this piece. The elements that surround the stone are ears - trying to listen to a message from the past. Technically speaking the shape helps to protect the mounted stone as not to collide with various surface while in wear.

Cast in silver pendant with free rotation in two directions with synthetic alexandrite. Its story begins with the stone and I've told it before. What we see in the setting is Alexandrite, a stone that originally came from Russia well known for pleochroism(it changes color depending on the light). My stone swaps between warm purple (warm light) to pale blue of a sapphire (cold light or neon). For more details see the link below. Its cut, in a flattened ellipse- called navette or marquise-is what inspired the shape. The story says the name marquise comes from a king of France who requested a stone cut to resemble the lips of his mistress- a marquise. And navette comes from how it looks similar to a boat. That is why I wanted it to move- like a boat on water, with changing colors, or a compass.

A two-finger ring which can be worn as a pendant, cast in silver with citrine. The model started, of course, from the stone. I've found it in a souvenir shop and I liked its shape and colour, however I could not see how to mount it. After some long periods of thought and some adventures in the process of casting I finally got a two-finger ring that can be worn as a pendant. Its name comes from the model of a mountain covered by water- an image that got stuck in my mind as I've seen it glowing golden in the sun.

Cast in silver ring with opal. It has a nice backstory. At first I had a structural problem- opal is microscopic porous stone and it can retain more or less water because of this. Water and temperature variations may cause over time cracks to appear. Thus I was in need of a system to allow water to flow away if it got there. So I had some help from the mushrooms and fungi- hence the name- to create the water drainage from the stone.

Cast in silver ring with synthetic ametrine. Ametrine is a citrine that was exposed to high temperatures and became an amethyst. (see link below) when I first saw these colors the thought was art nouveau, and after remarking upon its straight lines I searched for the balance in the curves of the style. Inspired by the architectural language it brought back to my mind the railings of art nouveau staircases, so fluid when touched, without any sudden interruptions, going smoothly around a straight, geometric and calculated stair. And that was it.

Cast in silver pendant with natural pherenite and epidote. Masive-it has around 50g out which 13.9 are the stone. Part of the series with Amberear. Series named somewhat sentimentally Listen to your heart. First we will go into the concept story and then for the technical part. As usual I started from the stone, spherical, centered, closed in itself. Just like a nucleus. Although I clearly saw it as a pendant I was not yet sure of the shape it would have. Later on I found the second stone- the amber from the ring. That stone has an insect- just like a memory form a long time ago. Like a memory of the past. Like a thought we are straining to hear. So if in the first case we had the heart- hence the thorax- in the second case it was like a nucleus of memory which should be listened to- hence the ears. And while searching for a name for the new creation I just remembered the idiom of Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Putting aside it is really made out of sticks and stones, the meaning of that phrase fits like a glove.that is why the complete name would actually be Sticks and stones (may make my bones) As for the technical part- the stone has an axial mounting system with two threaded parts so that the weight of the whole object is fully supported.

Cast in silver pendant, with yellow jade beads. Besides the Beatles reference, the submarine remembers a worker on a real sub regarding how to cope with isolation. Series of 6 pins cast in silver. The idea came from the flowers which at that point in time, were beginning to bloom and how the slowly unfold. I made 2 subcategories, with large potential for expansion, flower design being a vast subject. The peony series and Spiral series. Peony has 4 instances whilst Spiral only two. Their small dimensions enable them to be used as an accessory in almost any event going from casual to more pretentious ones. At the moment the dimensions are 12 and 9 mm diameter but can be adapted in number of petals and size, that being the reason why I consider them to be one of the most versatile creations.

One of the most complex pieces because of the stone fixture method. In fact its geometry was so complex that I was able to understand it after I molded it. Its beauty lies in the fact that it is adaptive. The central piece is a fixed sized cabochon but it might as well hold anything printed using as a base the cabochon shape but spreading out from the setting. The set piece can be then changed by the users themselves. That is because the ring opens by gently pressing it. Cast in silver.

Cast in silver ring with a bullet shaped synthetic peridote. Slightly adaptable. The concept started from the shape and colour of the stone — the green tone recalled pistachio (pistacchio);
The ring’s geometry keeps the stone loose so, if you have the same shape, you can replace it. Regarding synthetic stones, they are made in a lab: a natural quartz base is baked in a kiln with minerals (such as iron for the green) to reach the desired colour.

Rock cristal set in silver cast pendant. The ideea here was simple- the stone is transparent, cold, it is a cristal so it would need a ploygonal shape like a cocoon to protect its tip. Ice is the element it can be associated to. Although it needs protection the purpose of a jewelery is not only to cover the stone but also to show it off. A chalange in this case I would like to mention the irregular shape of the piece to set. It is infinitely more difficult to come up with a setting for a irregular geometry.

Cast in silver ring with grown pearl. It was made on order and based on the prototype bearing the same name. Let me draw to your attention the adjustments made, because each piece made after a model is altered both because of the dimensions and of the stone. Cast in silver ring with moving jade beads inside. The concept started out from gears. The one from your car, or bike, which is in continuous motion. And from some beads(which meanwhile increased in number) of jade which I had lying around. I first approached it this way because it uses an indigolite, which slightly changes colour in the light. I had to redo the rotating part once. What can I say? It is always from errors that we learn.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, indigolite tourmaline | Dimensions: 3 × 1.8 × 1.8 cm | Year: 2020
The Link pin was a submission for the National Museum of Art of Romania (MNAR), which hosts one of the largest collections of paintings here. I was inspired by their grand staircase. Unfortunately, they were not inspired by my design.

Type: Pin | Materials: Sterling silver | Dimensions: 1.9 × 1.9 × 2 cm | Year: 2020
Another test of how to make earrings directly from casting. This one is actually a favourite of mine, because they can be worn as rings or earrings.
Type: Earrings | Materials: Silver | Dimensions: 3 × 3 × 3 cm | Year: 2020
Ring cast in silver with a purple culture pearl. Initially, I tried fixing the pearl, with an intresting shape and color in a way that would maximize its effect. And this is how it came to be. Still, I found out on this occasion how the woven pattern can reinforce the shape. Even though it is an open ring its geometry gives it more resistance. The unusual shape encouraged some to describe it as a mini creature from Dune.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, culture pearl | Dimensions: 3.0 × 2.5 × 1.5 cm | Year: 2020
@Cristian Avram @Teodora Mihaela
This pair of rings was complex. I was asked for a woven pattern. The cool part is the logic behind it. Do you even know, or could you imagine, what it takes to code weaving? Not only in position, but in depth as well.
Pair of 14kt gold wedding rings. How fine and precise can you cast a pattern like that. The Romanian name, Brancovenesc, comes from the similar decoration in that style. In the pictures you can see the 3D model, the silver prototype, and the final gold cast, and the difference between casting in gold and in silver.
Type: Wedding rings | Materials: 14kt gold, silver prototype | Dimensions: 2.4 × 2.4 × 0.6 cm and 1.8 × 1.8 × 0.6 cm | Year: 2020
Pendant cast in silver with epidote and perhenit. Its story begins with the stone which I found first and understood that I will have to make a setting for it. What came out got its name from the shape of the stone (bean) and that of the setting (nut).
Type: Pendant | Materials: Sterling silver, epidote and prehnite | Dimensions: 1.9 × 1.5 × 6.8 cm | Year: 2019
The first cromatic concept for a ring. The idea came from the warm light of a free day with clear sky. Thus the window shape. The stones are cubic zirconia (man-made) aquamarine and lemon peridot colored. The ring is cast in silver.
Mentioned on Facebook between 2019 and 2019.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, cubic zirconia (aquamarine and lemon peridot coloured) | Dimensions: 1.7 × 2.6 × 2.7 cm
Or shortly, Dewy. Cast silver piece, with natural treated Swiss blue topaz. It has two important points: one- it is adjustable and two, it is comfortable and still pretty resistant. The model was inspired by the stone. In this case, the volumetric shape of the stone led to the end-of-piece setting. I still have to find another stone like this one.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, Swiss blue topaz | Dimensions: 1.7 × 2 × 1.2 cm | Year: 2019
Custom order. Cast in yellow gold of 18k with a blue safire chosen by the client. The model is designed from a previous version which was improved. It is important that this one also got an "Yes"
Type: Ring | Materials: 18k yellow gold, blue sapphire | Dimensions: 1.7 × 1.8 × 0.8 cm | Year: 2019
Custom made order. A good friend of mine wanted to surprise his girlfriend and ask for her hand. So for this piece we had plannings, more tests and other adventures. The answer was yes. The final cast was in white gold, but the trial was in silver.
Type: Ring | Materials: White gold, silver trial | Dimensions: 1.7 × 1.9 × 1 cm | Year: 2019
We all know about bluethooth- the wireless connection with other devices. Greentooth is basically the connection with greenery- in every sense. The flower edge is script generated and can be adapted to various configurations but it is thought in such manner that the stone will be protected in the intensive daily use. It was cast in silver, the stone is natural peridot or olivine.
Type: Ring | Materials: Sterling silver, peridot | Dimensions: 2.4 × 2 × 1.2 cm | Year: 2019
These were actually the first attempt at earrings. Since I don't have a way to solder at home, I had to devise a way to make the earrings. Thus I reinvented the screw, literally. These guys are threaded into the ear. The nut and bolts were manually threaded.
Type: Earrings | Materials: Silver | Dimensions: 3.2 × 1.8 × 1.2 cm | Year: 2019
I made it for my sister. She usually doesn't wear jewellery, but she does like architecture. Unfortunately, she still hasn't used it.

Custom order. It is a pendant cast in silver and was literally the biggest object ever made till now. On the long axis, it is about 7 cm and aprox 120 g after polishing. The image was given by the client but the 3d modeling was made by a script. I've got lots to learn from this project and at the end the owner (for whom it was a surprise gift) was satisfied. It should be mentioned that it is at the upper limit of castable size and weight. At the moment.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Silver | Dimensions: 7 × 3.5 × 1 cm | Year: 2019
Ring cast in silver with a rectangular cushion cut citrine. The concept started from a warm source that gradually unfolds. For those days when the sun is missing, to have a tiny spark on you. Learning from past models, this one is also adjustable.
Type: Ring | Materials: Sterling silver, citrine | Dimensions: 2.3 × 2 × 1.2 cm | Year: 2019
Started from the same base as Mushroom ring, Roots shows the difference that can be made from the algorithm. It is a slender ring cast in silver and adjustable. To be mentioned that for future castings I will geometrically reinforce it.

Type: Ring | Materials: Silver | Dimensions: 1.7 × 1.9 × 0.9 cm
Pendant. Cast in silver it holds a stone of quartz (rock crystal) inside. It was registered for a competion but the jury's deccision was that it was not suited to the theme. Anyway, it still remains one of my favorite. The curves on the outside suggest the ripples in the water and are generated by a geometric script, thus being customizable.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Sterling silver, quartz | Dimensions: 2.4 × 2.4 × 4.5 cm | Year: 2019
Silver pendant with a peach coloured sintetic stone. The shape is important about it. It was designed so that it could be worn on either side and on either short or long necklaces.
Type: Pendant | Materials: Sterling silver, zircon | Dimensions: 4 × 2 × 1.5 cm | Year: 2019
Silver cast model with labradorite stone. The largest ring I designed- it covers 3 fingers. As it often happens in the case of stones the design came from the gems and how they can come off in a special shape. The name comes from people's reaction when they've seen it- everyone said that it is covered in peace signs but their thoughts were further from that idea and less peaceful.... The opening in the actual cast object allows for a tighter diameter and thus a better grip for it's large size.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, labradorite | Dimensions: 2.7 × 1.9 × 1 cm | Year: 2019
Custom made. Two of my friends decided to tie the knot in a special way so they wanted a pair of wedding rings with some design peculiarities. That is how, after a period of discussions on various issues we managed to get the perfect design they were looking for. And the two rings have now a loving home. Cast in yellow gold (14kt) and trials made in bronze.
Type: Wedding rings | Materials: 14kt yellow gold, bronze trials | Dimensions: 1.7 × 1.7 × 1.5 cm and 1.6 × 1.6 × 1 cm | Year: 2019
Here we obviously have a wonderful iolite, and a design I wanted as lightweight as possible, with a weird entry point. So when it was mounted, the stone was inserted sideways.
Type: Ring | Materials: Iolite, silver | Dimensions: 1.8 × 1.8 × 1 cm | Year: 2019
This pair is the first to try out the most comfortable mode of earrings fixing. It is also embedded in the shape of the object that is spreading out in wire thin lines. Cast in silver.

Here is all about solving a technical dilemma. I had a rigid bronze bracelet too big for my hand, the hole in which the hand came in being simply to large( however the general diameter of the bracelet being ok). To solve this problem I developed this system of extensions with ornamental endings that can be removed to be able to reduce the opening and to change the model anytime I wanted. Cast in bronze.

Type: Bracelet | Materials: Bronze | Dimensions: 1 × 1 × 1 cm
A new type of fixing, the model ensures against occasional damage to the stone and also against catching on materials. The name of the piece comes from the color of the culture pearl. Cast in silver.

Some of the earlier tries of wire framing, Cast in silver.

First square ring. The shape was inspired by the set stone, octahedral fluorite cristal. Basically, in nature, crystals like these are formed in soft soils which allow individual growth from the particular component elements. Cast in silver, the stone is a naturally shaped fluorite
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, fluorite | Dimensions: 1.7 × 2.5 × 1.3 cm | Year: 2018
First attempt at a massive changeable shape. It has a nice mechanism inside, and it actually works. I was always afraid of having it cast because of the weight, though that in itself would make it work better.
Mentioned on Facebook between 2018 and 2018.
Type: Pendant | Materials: PLA, beads, waxed thread | Dimensions: 2.5 × 2.5 × 5 cm | Year: 2018
First mounting- in the beginning I wanted a perfectly round pearl, like the one in the renderings. Chance was that a tear shaped pearl fit the spot better. The piece is a flexible one, firstly because of the thickness but also because of the hole number, having more in the back to allow the pearl to mounted in front. It is the most delicate though ring I've ever made. The nickname comes from pearl+mollusc. Cast in silver, with a culture pearl.

Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, culture pearl | Dimensions: 1.7 × 1.7 × 1.3 cm
It is a symbiosis between polygons and nature. Or that's how I see it. Each mushroom is the hat resulting from the joining of each polygons' center that are closest to a point. Or you could just admire the resulting shape. Cast in silver.

Type: Ring | Materials: Silver | Dimensions: 2.4 × 2.4 × 1 cm
Made to be a finer version of a pearl fixture. The closure system is similar to the art nouveau ones. Cast in silver

Cast in silver, each piece has 2 set amethyst cabochons. The model is a variation of the flexible system in the previous earrings. Now it is fixed and not centered. The Pretzel part of the name comes from the initial sketch which can still be seen in the side view. They can be worn as a set with the amethyst art nouveau ring
Type: Earrings | Materials: Silver, amethyst cabochons | Dimensions: 2.5 × 1.2 × 0.8 cm | Year: 2018
The ring is an adaptable version for cabochon mounting. Also it has a rather special positioning on the hand coming out on the side. Cast in silver, the stone set is an oval shaped cabochon zirconia.

Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, cubic zirconia | Dimensions: 1.7 × 1.9 × 1 cm
In the search for thinner and more flowery shapes I tried this version too. Cast in silver it is part of the engagement ring saga.

Here starting from the same idea of the two ellipses we increased the complexity. The vertical ellipse went up to 24m x 8m but the double layer of the wrapping allowed for the light settings to be rearranged
Type: Stage | Materials: Textile | Dimensions: 24 × 8 m | Year: 2018
Custom made ring. Starting from the First ring I adapted the design for a new hand layout. The visual and de usage were take into account for this. So you can notice the general curvature, the with reduction towards the back and the gradual thickening of the polygons towards the front. Cast in silver. And two PLA versions for trials.
Type: Ring | Materials: Silver, PLA trials | Dimensions: 1.8 × 1.8 × 1.4 cm | Year: 2018
The first cast piece. The model is made of polygons with variable heights. The front opening allows it to be adjusted for any finger of the user's hand. The metal chosen to cast from was silver, but a bronze one was also made to take part in an exhibition.

You can invite me to join a project as an artist, suggest freelance work, or get in touch about research. I'm easy to talk to, and a few lines about an idea are enough to start. We can figure out the details together.
I'd be happy to hear about an exhibition, a residency, or an artwork we could make together. I work with parametric jewellery, objects, and digital art, often using ideas from biology. A collaboration can start with a material, a place, or a question you're curious about.
You can see examples in Collections and Digital Art.
Have a piece in mind, need a 3D model, or want to turn an idea into an interactive experience? You can approach me about a commission or freelance project. My work includes computational design, jewellery, and turning digital forms into physical objects.
Tell me what you want to make. If you have references, a deadline, or a budget in mind, those help too. It's fine if you're still working those out.
Some of my jewellery is for sale. If a piece catches your eye in the Pieces catalogue, just ask. Send me its name or a photo, and I can tell you about availability and price.
You can also get in touch to design a piece with me. Tell me what you have in mind, even if it's just a starting idea, and we can work on it together.
I'm also open to scientific collaboration on glucose prediction, agentic AI, and genomics. That might mean comparing glucose forecasts, building AI agents that help with research tasks, or exploring gene-expression data. I also enjoy practical workshops where we learn by making something.
I founded GlucoseDAO and contribute to the Longevity Genie ecosystem. You can read more about that work in Science & Tech.
